A new public house is opening in Catford and Lewisham Council are now inviting tenders from operators interested in running this community space. Please download the information pack here.
Deadline for submission of proposals is Friday 24th September at 5pm.
The Council’s own company: Catford Regeneration Partnership Ltd (CRPL) is seeking expressions of interest from potential operators of this new pub in Catford Town Centre that will open by Easter 2023. The opportunity is to transform the former Catford Constitutional Club (CCC) building and garden, working in partnership with the council.
The Georgian part of the building started life as a farm house and is the oldest remaining building in Catford. The former CCC was a much loved local institution that had widespread community appeal and affection as well as drawing in people from further afield. The pub staged live music, events, parties and gatherings and hosted partnerships with local cultural groups such as The Catford Film Festival. The restored building should reclaim its place in Catford and rekindle these events and partnerships.
This new public house is designed to meet the needs of the local community and CRPL is inviting operator proposals that create tangible social value such as jobs, apprenticeships and training. This is an important and visionary project that seeks to create a new type of ‘public house’ or meeting space for all of the people of Catford (building on its previous popularity and success). It is the first part of an extensive programme of renewal for the town centre and will play a vital part in this process.
